The United Way British Columbia has had a long and proud history of working with the Canadian Labour Congress and its affiliated labour unions, including IATSE 891.
This partnership between Labour and the United Way has helped raise awareness and funds to provide research into the root causes of social problems, to invest in non-profit organizations so that they can deliver quality programming that makes a difference in the lives of children and seniors, and to raise our voices to influence public attitudes, systems and policies.
Working people are the backbone of United Way campaigns, and our Executive Board is proud to encourage the membership of IATSE 891 to support the United Way, through contributions of time, and by making a financial donation.
Each year, IATSE 891 is proud to support and participate in the Period Promise Campaign. United Way Period Promise increases access to free menstrual products in our community so that everyone who menstruates can go to work, get to school, access services, and stay connected to their community. In 2025, IATSE 891 raised a total of $10,050 in cash and collected over 1,500 period products.
